Our Story
The Roost was born out of a simple frustration: East Austin had great coffee bars, but very few places where you could sit down, eat something real, and actually feel at home. Lena Torres opened these doors because she wanted to build exactly that — a no-frills neighborhood spot that serves good food without the performance.
Our mission has always been straightforward: source quality ingredients, brew coffee the right way, and treat every customer like a neighbor — because most of them are. We work with local roasters and bakeries whenever we can, and we keep our menu tight so that everything on it is actually worth ordering.
The values here are the same ones Lena brought from her grandmother's kitchen: fresh is non-negotiable, nothing goes to waste, and every person who walks in deserves a warm welcome. We're a small team, and that means you'll probably see the same faces every visit — people who genuinely care how your morning is going.
